Pete Hines defends 30 FPS in Starfield on Xbox

There are just a few days left for the launch of the highly anticipated Starfield and as it was revealed months ago, Bethesda Game Studios has decided to launch the game only with the 30 FPS option on Xbox Series X|S, without support for 60 FPS.

The 30 FPS was not very well accepted by the community, as many prefer performance over quality, not to mention that most games today have two game modes and you are free to choose.

This frame rate is hated by many, but do Bethesda Game Studios employees think so too? Recently Pete Hines participated in an interview and said that the feel of the game is more important than numbers on the screen. At the same time, he added that it's better to lower the frame rate than to drop some features and try to increase it.

“You don't see this number while playing. So it's not a number, it's a feeling. It must be fluid. And that's it. It's at the level we need to deliver the kind of game on the scale we want.”

Everything indicates that Pete Hines is pretty confident and sure that fans won't think about frame rate when are playing Starfield, as the experience will be smooth and fluid.

Starfield launches on PC and Xbox consoles on September 6, 2023. The game also arrives day-one via Xbox Game Passa>a>.
