Immortals of Aveum, a new game developed by Ascendant Studios in partnership with Electronic Arts is available since the 22nd of August and unfortunately we have here another game with performance issues.
The official channel of Digital Foundry on YouTube published a video review about the game and how it is running on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the result is not the best.
We have here a “new generation” game, made in Unreal Engine 5, supporting recent technologies such as Nanite, Lumen, Ray-Tracing and others. With that in mind, the game was made to run at 60 FPS at all times, and in that part it ends up sacrificing a lot of resolution.
According to Digital Foundry to maintain 60 FPS, the resolution of Immortals of Aveum on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X is 720p upscaled to 4K. The situation on Xbox Series S is even worse, as the game runs at 768×436, presenting horrible image quality.
However, even with the low resolution, the game cannot maintain the 60 FPS 100% of the time, as during certain scenes with a lot going on on screen there are drops to 40 ~ 50 FPS or even 30 FPS on Xbox Series S.
Immortals of Aveum is now available on PC , PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
