According to some unspecified sources of the Commercial Times of Taiwan , TSMC would have received important production orders from Intel concerning not only the next generation Battlemage GPUs, but also those based on the next architecture, namely Celestial .
Taiwanese sources say that Intel is continuing R&D programs for next-generation GPUs as planned and will “launch the second-generation Battlemage graphics chip with Xe2 architecture in the second half of 2024 and the graphics chip Third generation Celestial with Xe3 architecture in the second half of 2026”. It is also claimed that the Battlemage GPUs will be manufactured using TSMC's 4nm process, while the Celestial GPUs will be manufactured on TSMC's 3nm process.
Despite not a stunning departure from the Arc Alchemist series, and the recent departure by Raja Koduri , Intel expects strong demand in the graphics card sector, both in the consumer market, thanks to gaming and eSports, and business and enterprise (due to the constant demand for new cards dedicated to computing). A couple of months ago, during an interview, Tom Peterson , Intel Fellow, underlined that the company had learned from the mistakes made with Alchemist and to focus, with Battlemage, on fewer microarchitectures, i.e. only Xe2-LPG and Xe2 -HPG .

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how the company manages to keep up with the challenges and innovations proposed by its competitors NVIDIA and AMD, and how future generations of Battlemage and Celestial GPUs position themselves in the graphics card landscape. In addition, it is important that the driver development team continue to work to offer optimal performance and timely updates, contributing to the success of Intel cards in the market.
