If we're being honest, Nintendo hasn't had a good experience with film adaptations of their beloved plumber named Super Mario. The sting has been deep since the 1990s and the company today distances itself enormously from the film Super Mario Bros. But with Universal Pictures and Illumination, trust was great and Shigeru Minamoto was now able to fulfill his childhood dream of producing a film in cooperation with Hollywood .
