Season 2 of Captain Tsubasa's reboot announced with the Junior Youth Arc



Shueisha announces Season 2 of the Captain Tsubasa reboot (Holly and Benji – Two champions in the historic Italian edition) with the Junior narrative arc, inspired by the spokon manga of the same name written and illustrated by Yoichi Takahashi.

Captain Tsubasa: Junior Youth Arc --> Season 2 is the sequel to the Captain Tsubasa anime reboot aired in Japan between April 2, 2018 and April 1, 2019 which retraces the memorable events of the manga series and takes the title of Captain Tsubasa: Junion Youth Arc ( Captain Tsubasa Season 2: Juniors-hen ). The new series is expected for next October 2023.

The announcement is accompanied by a first teaser trailer that we can watch below:

--> Season 2 is made by Studio KAI replacing the animation studio David Production ( JoJo's Bizarre Adventure ) who made Season 1. Katsumi Ono ( Senki Zessho Symphogear GX , Girly Air Force ) is directing the project instead of Toshiyuki Kato . Atsuhiro Tomioka returns to supervise the script, Hajime Watanabe reprises his role as character designer and head of the animation department. Noriko Ogura plays the role of character design assistant.

Season 1 began on April 2, 2018 and ended on April 1, 2019 for a total of 52 episodes proposing two narrative arcs: Student arc of elementary schools and Arco of middle school students. In Italy, the entire series was proposed by Mediaset and aired from 23 December 2019 to 9 July 2021 on Italia 1. --> The Captain Tsubasa manga was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1981 to 1988 and, later, collected in 37 tankōbon volumes. It arrives in Italy thanks to Star Comics which has also published the 18 volumes of Captain Tsubasa World Youth and the two specials Captain Tsubasa World Youth Special and Captain Tsubasa - Taro Misaki Story. However, due to a dispute between FIFA and the Japanese publisher Shūeisha regarding the presence of real teams, jerseys and players in the work, Star Comics was unable to publish the remaining series or reprint Captain Tsubasa World Youth.

Star Comics then re-proposed the series in a collector's box, entitled CAPITAN TSUBASA COLLECTION .
