Now it's official: LEGO 2K Drive exists and will debut soon. After the teasers launched by the publisher, confirmation has now also arrived from an American newspaper, which however may have broken the embargo to which it had been subjected. However, the substance changes little: the new game with Danish bricks has now been unveiled. The project also seems to mark the end of the relationship between WB Games and the Danish company, which had been linked for decades for the creation of brick-themed video games.
As we stated at the beginning of the news, the game is calls LEGO 2K Drive and is not a rival to Mario Kart, but more of a gauntlet thrown to racing games like Forza Horizon. The new driving game is in fact an open world title, defined by the publisher as an "AAA driving adventure game". The title will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store) very soon. The release date is in fact set for May 19, 2023. At launch there will be three editions available: Standard Edition and an Awesome Edition, which will include a digital mini figure, the season pass and a new vehicle.
--> In terms of gameplay, LEGO 2K Drive will feature on-road, off-road and even sea racing. There is also a cooperative multiplayer sector, as well as the customization of your vehicles. All obviously in full LEGO style, with the possibility of using the bricks to create your own vehicles by choosing from a thousand different bricks.
