Resident Evil 4 Remake
If you experienced the original release of Resident Evil 4 , you may remember that Capcom also released a special chainsaw-shaped controller at the game's launch. Although perfectly functional, the pad was actually designed more as a collector's item than for actual use, so much so that today it is on sale on eBay or Amazon for decidedly unaffordable figures. Thanks to the arrival of the remake (set for March 24, 2023), the development team had thought of being able to re-propose that experiment, but unfortunately the idea has not seen the light.
Talking about the possibility to revive the Chainsaw Controller was the director, in an interview with Game Informer, together with the producer. “We had already placed practically all our resources in the development of the game”, the words of the two men interviewed by US colleagues. In short, there weren't enough people to work on a possible revival of the controller, since the whole development team was busy right on the game code.
If you were disappointed know that however there is still hope for the future. Both the producer and the director have in fact declared that the idea has not been completely shelved and that in the coming months it is not excluded that Capcom decides to work on a new controller perfectly in line with Resident Evil 4 Remake. Clearly this is a hypothesis, but the feeling is that the release from day one, perhaps accompanied by a full-bodied Collector's Edition, has now been lost forever.
As we stated at the beginning of the news, the remake of Resident Evil 4 will debut on March 24, 2023 for PlayStation, Xbox and obviously PC consoles. If you haven't already done so, you can reserve your copy on Amazon. Keep following GameDivision for all the news and upcoming announcements from the world of video games.
