The similarities between the two characters are evident for the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom, leaving aside the comic origins of Riri Williams/Ironheart, which were strongly related to the Golden Avenger. During a recent interview with ComicBook, Dominique Thorn discussed the similarity between Ironheart and Iron Man, not limiting himself to emphasizing the obvious similarities between the two brilliant inventors, but airing the hypothesis that this affinity will be developed with particular attention within the future television series dedicated to the young Riri, who after her Wakandian adventure will return at home:I believe that Riri's creation of this armor, or the attempt to make it in this way, is an unconscious acknowledgment of what Tony Stark did build ndo the first armor of him. I think for someone as ambitious as Riri is, it's definitely something that draws you in and demands your attention. As can be seen from the film, this ambition will take her somewhere of her own and on this occasion it has driven her to be in line with Tony, prompting her to create an armor of her all of her own.

The same qualities that made Tony a genius, billionaire playboy and philanthropist could have a very different impact on young Riri, also thanks to an evolution of the franchise. The time of idealized heroes was largely closed in Phase Four, and less than positive experiences of the past, such as the idea of 'an armor that protects the world' turned out to be a mistake that led to the birth of Ultron (Avengers: Age of Ultron), could prove to be an inspiration for Riri, leading her to develop her own vision of her superheroic role.
