A couple of years ago, Stuttgart's leading carmaker shared the story of a Porsche 911 enthusiast who added a roof rack and tent to his Carrera 4S so that he could use it even when camping. But while the Cayenne might be a better adventure companion than any other Zuffenhausen product, the German automaker has thought outside the box and even marketed tents compatible with the electric Taycan. Now a few weeks later, Porsche takes it one step further by offering a two-person tent for those who own a Carrera 911.
Porsche Tequipment's new offering arrives in an exclusive hard case designed to withstand the atmospheric agents and shocks. Created at the Weissach Development Center, the new system can be installed on the door bars of the 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan EV, with and without handrails. The tent itself is waterproof and has been described as a two-person all-weather tent with two opening side windows with mosquito nets and a roof window. A dimming feature can keep light at bay if you ever find yourself in an area where the sun sets late at night.
When open, the tent floor has an area of about 3 square meters. This space is supported by an integrated polyfoam mattress with quilting and the walls of the tent are made of a breathable blend of cotton. According to Porshe, it is an easy-to-use accessory suitable for everyone thanks to the presence of two integrated gas shock absorbers capable of streamlining the opening procedures.| ); }
