The debut on the market of the AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors, set for next September 27th, is almost complete, and it is normal to see some benchmarks appearing on the net in advance. Already a couple of weeks ago, the well-known leaker @TUM_APISAK had published the results obtained from the top of the range, the Ryzen 9 7950X, in CPU-Z. The chip is equipped with 16 cores and 32 threads, has a base frequency of 4.5GHz capable of reaching up to 5.7GHz, 200 MHz more than the Intel Core i9-12900KS. As for the other technical characteristics, the CPU has a TDP of 170W (230W PPT), 80MB of cache, of which 64MB L3 and 16MB L2.
Today, however, we report that a group of overclockers has pushed the Ryzen 9 7950X up to 5.4GHz on all 16 cores, scoring 40,498 points in Cinebench R23, beating the previous record set by the Core i9-12900KS (40,412 points). Furthermore, to achieve this important result, an AIO liquid cooling system with a 280mm radiator was used, while on the Intel system it was necessary to use liquid nitrogen to bring the CPU up to 7GHz.
This also highlights how the Zen 4 processors are able to offer greater efficiency than the 12th generation Cores. The Ryzen 9 7950X also captured the position as the fastest sixteen-core chip in Cinebench R20 and Cinebench R15. In addition to Cinebench, the processor achieved a maximum speed across all cores of 5.45GHz in 7-zip, where it achieved 228,922 MIPS.
