The GeForce RTX 4070 may be less powerful than expected

The well-known leaker @ kopite7kimi, of which we have already spoken to you in the past for his advances regarding the upcoming NVIDIA graphics cards, such as the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti, belonging to the "Ada Lovelace" generation which should debut on the market in next autumn, come back today to talk about the RTX 4070, which could be less powerful than expected.



Already in the past the leaker had published the updated specifications of the RTX 4080, which showed a cut to the core number when previous leaks were taken into consideration. The same fate seems to have been reserved for the RTX 3070 as well. As you can see from the table below, which compares the specifications published three weeks ago with the most recent ones, we can see that it has a lower number of cores, as well as slower memories, characteristics which certainly contributed to reducing the TGP. As a result, performance also dropped, dropping from around 11,000 to around 10,000 points in the Time Spy Extreme benchmark.
