Conan Exiles: Age of Sorcery arrives on September 1, 2022, to play for free until September 8

Funcom has announced that the Age of Sorcery maxi update for Conan Exiles will be available starting September 1st. To celebrate, he also announced that the game will be playable for free from 1 to 8 September, so you can touch all the news first hand.

With the arrival of this monumental update, we have also changed the presentation illustration of the game to reflect the addition of witchcraft and the new dynamics it brings. Let us know what you think! Let's see it:

Age of Sorcery will also feature a major feature overhaul with new benefits, a dedicated build interface , a creative way to build with no restrictions, a Battle Pass packed with cosmetics, and tons of other improvements.

'Conan Exiles' v3.0: Age of Sorcery Update Arrives Next Week, Free To Play For A Limited Time

'I walk in a land of desperation. A wasteland of the exiled and the outcast. Where the broken strive to build and the weak are crushed while the strong survive.'

These are the words of Conan the Barbarian as he strides across a desert wasteland, skulls and bones crushing beneath is sandaled feet.

Conan Exiles is first and foremost a multiplayer game that can be enjoyed on both private and public servers, but it will also feature a single-player mode.

Journey through a vast, seamless world filled with the ruins of ancient civilizations and uncover its dark history and buried secrets as you seek to conquer and dominate the exiled lands yourself. Start with nothing but your bare hands and forge the legacy of your clan, from simple tools and weapons to gigantic fortresses and entire cities.

Funcom announced that Sorcery is coming to Conan Exiles on September 1, 2022, bringing both a huge free content update and a fundamental change in how the game will continue to grow for ages to come.

To celebrate the milestone of this massive free update, Conan Exiles will be free to try on Steam from September 1-8 and on Xbox from September 8-11.

Ages are a new way for Conan Exiles to expand its world and experience. Including the Age of Sorcery, each following Age will continue to have its own theme, free gameplay updates, and paid Battle Passes, which replace the current DLC model. Ages look to the future, in order to deliver evenly paced content drops and an easy way for any player to support the game’s growth and receive exclusive themed cosmetics.

In Age of Sorcery, players will choose whether to grasp the virulent powers of sorcery, sacrificing a portion of their life force to cast deadly spells and summon unholy creatures. Additionally, thanks to an improved attributes and perks system that gives players choices between perks at certain milestones, character progression and combat is deepened.

Building has never been better in Conan Exiles; with a complete overhaul adding a faster, easier to use interface for both keyboards and controllers, and a tailored Creative Mode that lets players fly through the air to build without restrictions.

The update includes a host of further improvements and additions, including tweaks to followers, new placeables and crafting materials related to sorcery and rituals, updates to the world to make it even more alive and dangerous, and more!

v3.0: Age of Sorcery Features:

Sorcery: Become a master of the dark forces of sorcery at the cost of health and stamina. The deeper you draw, the more corruption you let in, enhancing your powers but visibly withering your body. Perform summoning rituals to summon demonic and undead followers, vanish from plain sight, and conjure darkness or storms at will. Sorcery requires preparation and madness in equal measure.

Expanded Perks & Attributes: Character specialization in Age of Sorcery is deeper than ever. Every attribute has been rebalanced and its effects tweaked. Additionally, players now receive a choice between perks for each attribute, letting them specialize further. Sorcerers who have become sufficiently corrupted will unlock a special sorcery perk.

Building Overhaul: Building receives a complete overhaul, complete with a new and dedicated interface, massively improving building for both keyboard and controller players.

Ages arrive in Conan Exiles: The way Conan Exiles expands is changing. Following Age of Sorcery, each Age will continue to have its own theme, free gameplay updates, and Battle Passes. Ages look to the future, in order to deliver evenly paced content drops and an easy way for any player to support the game’s growth and receive exclusive themed cosmetics.

Creative Mode: Directly available through the main menu, Creative Mode allows players to focus on building without material or movement restrictions. Raise whole cities in no time, and then explore them with friends!

Age of Sorcery will arrive in Q3 2022, and will be preceded by a number of in-depth articles, videos, posts, and more covering its major features.

You are an exile, one of thousands cast out to fend for themselves in a barbaric wasteland swept in sandstorms and besieged by enemies on every side. Grow crops or hunt animals for food. Harvest resources to build weapons and tools. Build a shelter to survive. Ride across a vast world and explore alone, or band together with other players to build entire settlements and fortified strongholds, and wage war against your enemies as you unleash your fury in savage, fast-paced combat that will see limbs flying and heads rolling.

Enslave the bandits of the exiled lands to do your bidding by breaking them on the grueling Wheel of Pain. Sacrifice the beating hearts of your enemies on the blood-soiled altars of your god to seize true power and glory. Summon the colossal avatar of your god and see them lay waste to your enemies and their homes.

You can even align yourself with the Hyborian gods, building altars to their glory and sacrificing the bloody hearts of enemy players upon them to shift the balance of power in your favor. Players will also have to face the purge: a special event where NPC armies from the neighboring kingdoms sweep in to destroy the progress that the exiles have made. Will you stand together with your fellow players against the purge, or will you use it to your advantage?

Just remember: in this brutal land of vengeful gods, bloodthirsty cannibals, and vicious monsters, survival is more than tracking down food and water. Explore mysterious ruins in search of treasure and knowledge, but beware the risk of your mind being corrupted by the dark forces of the world. Traverse vast sand dunes and seek shelter from scouring sandstorms sweeping across the burning sands. March into war against your enemies and unleash your savage fury in brutal combat. Go in unprepared and it will be your head rolling and limbs flying.

Conan Exiles is not an empty sandbox. It is a world rich in history where you must discover the knowledge and secrets of ancient civilizations as you struggle to build your own.
