Kevin Bacon in Footloose on the DVD cover
Kevin Bacon pretended to be an off-site student for Footloose, how?
Recently the actor revealed that he was petrified by some experience: in the past he wanted to pretend to be an off-site student for a day, meeting and interacting with the high school kids of the 80s. In short, he tried to play his role in real life and he felt like a fish out of water. Here you can read his words, reported by comicbook.com:I wanted to see with my own eyes what it would be like for a city boy to move to a culturally very different rural environment. The experience was so similar to that of the film that you cannot imagine. Some of the toughest guys would tell me 'Who are you, punk?'. They confronted me face to face in the bathroom and things like that. And then there was this big guy who had taken me under his wing, and he said: 'Everyone stand back. He is with me '. The girls, when I walked down the aisle, giggled. If my character had entered that school on the first day, he would have said: 'Come on, go for it!'. Instead it was the exact opposite.| ] adding zone: tag crm_srl-th_culturapop_d_mh2_1 slot id: th_culturapop_d_mh2 "); }
The only people who knew I was an actor were the principal and possibly the guidance counselor. The teachers didn't know, and so did the students.
