Ubisoft will have its own showcase
We entered the month of June and this only means one thing: many, many summer events. Despite the cancellation of E3 2022, there are already many conferences and showcases organized by publishers, developers and distributors who will accompany us in the hot summer months. If the most important names in this industry have already announced their appointments, Ubisoft is missing, but they let us know that yes, something at the show level will be organized.In a statement sent to Axios colleagues, a Ubisoft representative stated that there is currently no intention of organizing a showcase in June 2022. Despite this, the intention of the French Canadian publisher and developer is to organize an event anyway. during the year. We do not yet know if Yves Guillemot and associates intend to exploit perhaps July 2022 or directly the period of Gamescom (held at the end of August), but we can be sure: something will come.| ); }
According to some rumors, Ubisoft currently has a new Assassin's Creed, much closer to live services than the classic games of the series. We must not forget Beyond Good & Evil 2, absent from the scene for too long now. It is also possible that a new IP is not being worked on between Paris and Montreal, perhaps to be presented with great fanfare during the company's next showcase.
Ubisoft isn’t planning to hold its own E3-style showcase in June
Ubisoft won’t be holding a major product showcase this month.
The French publisher has traditionally held a conference each summer—almost always in June— to coincide with E3, but a company spokesperson told Axios that won’t be the case in 2022.
The Ubisoft rep said the company isn’t planning another product showcase until “later this year.”
Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Ubisoft Forward June 2021The Assassin’s Creed maker held its first fully digital conference, Ubisoft Forward, in July 2020 after E3 was cancelled amid Covid-19 concerns. It claimed the format was a success, attracting concurrent viewership that surpassed Ubisoft’s previous E3 conferences.
Ubisoft Forward events were also held in September 2020 and in June 2021.
In March, several sources told reliable industry insider Tom Henderson that Ubisoft was planning a major digital showcase which was supposed to air prior to a potential E3 show this summer, but that those plans could have been put on hold due to recent world events.
E3 2022 was subsequently cancelled, but Summer Game Fest 2022 is expected to fill the void somewhat, with “events, activities and updates for fans from more than 30 partners” scheduled for June.
Ubisoft, which wasn’t on a list of Summer Game Fest partners released on Tuesday, is reportedly working on several unannounced titles including The Crew 3, Assassin’s Creed Rift, a 2.5D Prince of Persia game and an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel.
