Italian carmaker Lancia is known for building some of the most beautiful cars of all time, such as Fulvia, Delta Integrale, Stratos and 037. In recent years, however, Lancia has only focused on one model dedicated to the city that we all we know by the name of Ypsilon. In a recent interview, Lancia CEO Luca Napolitano said the historic marque would have a renaissance, characterized by a complete switch to electric vehicles by 2026. The details of this change were recently shared in a strategic plan that includes three new models every two years starting in 2024, the year in which we will see the arrival of the new electric Lancia Ypsilon.
Subsequently, in 2026, a new Lancia crossover will arrive on the market, which should enter the compact high wheel segment. It will bear the name of Aurelia, like the historic car of 1958. Only in 2028 will the Delta arrive, the famous square sedan that has made young and old fall in love. Like all other models, Delta will also be electrified, therefore the differences compared to the historic model will be more than clear. The new Lancia Delta, as anticipated by Napolitano himself, will nevertheless be faithful to the DNA of the original model and the return of Lancia to the world of Rally is not excluded and also the use of the initials HF. Everything will depend on how things go over the next few years for the premium brand of the Stellantis group.
The information on road cars is still contained, but according to what has been reported Lancia will integrate a system called Sound Air Light Augmented, or SALA for short, a "minimalist and intelligent virtual interface" designed to control the audio, climate and lighting with a single button. Lancia claims that these three new products will help it cover 50% of the European market, boosting the Stellantis group's sales in the premium and luxury sectors. In addition to becoming an electric vehicle brand, Lancia promises that 50% of the interior surfaces will be made with eco-sustainable materials.
