GPD Win Max 2 will also come with a Ryzen 7 6800U

A few days ago, we told you about GPD Win Max 2, the new "portable console" of the well-known manufacturer based in Hong Kong equipped with the Intel Core i7-1280P processor, the latter being part of the Alder Lake family and equipped with 14 cores and 20 threads.

Apparently, it will not be the only version of the device marketed, as GPD has also planned a second model equipped with an AMD APU. In particular, the processor in question will be the Ryzen 7 6800U, based on the Zen3 + architecture, equipped with 8 cores and 16 threads, a maximum frequency of 4.80GHz and a consumption of up to 28W. The integrated GPU is a Radeon 680M (RDNA 2) with 12 CU (768 stream processors) clocked at up to 2.2GHz.

According to the tests conducted by GPD, the Intel Core i7-1280P processor is able to guarantee, by virtue of its iGPU Xe G7 with 96EU, 1080p gaming with modern triple A at 60 fps, but with a consumption that can reach up to 64W peak (starting from 28W). On the other hand, the Ryzen 7 6800U APU in the same games should deliver 45-60fps, but with a maximum consumption of 28W; therefore, the choice will also affect the autonomy.
