Elden Ring is available today and already promises to become one of the most successful games of 2022. Yet many, especially on PC, are complaining about a less than perfect optimization, with fluctuating performance and other flaws. A few minutes ago, Bandai Namco published a post apologizing to the players for the problems encountered by users and promised the arrival of patches.

In the post on the official website of the company, they are discussed point by I point out the main issues of the game, promising corrective patches and suggesting "do-it-yourself" fixes to users where possible.

Regarding Elden Ring's framerate and performance issues in general, Bandai Namco states "we are constantly working to improve the game so that it can be played properly on different PC configurations and platforms". Specifically for the PC version, Bandai Namco recommends updating the GPU drivers to the latest version, if you haven't done so yet.

In a blog post on its website, Bandai Namco has confirmed that the performance issues for Elden Ring are being looked into by FromSoftware. Despite launching to almost unanimously perfect reviews, Elden Ring has been suffering from some performance problems. On PC, there are issues with stuttering and on PS5 there’s a glitch with save files if the console is unexpectedly turned off, like in a power outage.


Bandai Namco has been quick to respond to the performance issues that some Elden Ring players have been experiencing. The company laid out a list of some of the main issues that it is working on resolving first. Check out the full list below.


“Main items to be revised

  • Regarding the problem of the mouse being too sensitive in the PC version
  • We will be sending out a patch for this issue in the near future.
  • Regarding the problem of Easy Anti-Cheat failing to launch when the Steam account name is set to 2-byte characters.
  • We are aware of the cause of this issue and will be providing a patch in the near future.
  • Regarding the phenomenon of frame rate and other performance-related issues during gameplayWe will be constantly working to improve the game so that it can be played comfortably on various PC environments and platforms.
  • For the PC version, updating your graphics card drivers to the latest version may significantly improve performance.
  • About the phenomenon of game data that does not save correctly in the PlayStation 5 version
  • If the PS5 console is unexpectedly turned off while playing a game or in rest mode, saved data may not be saved correctly.
  • We are aware of the cause of this issue and are working on a patch to correct it, but until the patch is released, please save your game manually by exiting the game regularly.
  • Game data will be saved correctly if you quit the game by opening the system menu using the OPTION button and selecting “Quit Game.”
  • Although these proposed issues don’t fix everything that some fans have been experiencing, it shows that Bandai Namco and FromSoftware are taking fan complaints seriously. Hopefully, more fixes are to come, including the issue of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X players not being able to play at a locked 60 FPS.
