Kirby: the canceled Gamecube game re-emerges in a video from E3 2005

Kirby

Kirby should have had another game on Nintendo Gamecube, in addition to the one that actually came out, and this video from E3 2005 testifies to the existence of the project which was later canceled by Nintendo for reasons not better identified.

Yes it would be the second game on the character in question in addition to Kirby's Air Ride, whose existence was publicly known even if it has never been the protagonist of a specifically dedicated presentation, so much so that it does not even have an official title. Many fans, however, have been waiting for years for this "Kirby GCN" that never materialized, which would probably have presented itself as a platform in "2.5D" rather close to the classic tradition of the series.

With the new video that emerged in recent days and reported by various newspapers, visible above, we have the opportunity to see the longest sequence seen so far of the game in question: it is less than 10 seconds, but it is probably the most in-depth presentation that we has been so far of this mysterious title that has never come to fruition.

The video shows the Nintendo stand at E3 2005, when the American fair was still in full shape and organized according to the classic way, with the various "booth" dedicated to producers who continuously sent videos and various materials in rotation.

Being an off-screen shot it is obviously not of great quality, but it still allows you to see what appear to be gamepla sequences y real, with a level set in a kind of flying ship, giant robots, platforms and mini-games. In the meantime, the new Kirby and the Lost Land on Nintendo Switch is coming soon, scheduled for March 25, 2022, but it may not be the only novelty given that 2022 also marks the videogame anniversary of the series.
