GTA Trilogy censors itself with the elimination of the Confederate flag
As you well know, on November 11th we will finally have the opportunity to return to video games of the Gran Theft Auto of the early 2000s, as well as the first 3D chapters of the popular free roaming series made in Rockstar Games. The expected changes for these three titles they are mainly of a visual and technical nature, but apparently there will be changes to the contents as well. We do not know the details in its entirety, but through the trailer released, some fans have noticed a peculiarity: Phil Cassidy, a character of the game, wore in the original a shirt with the confederate flag, a shirt that in the remastered looks completely different, portraying a banal drawing.
It is useless to underline how much this "change" has already infuriated several fans, starting to recall the classic "politically correct". In reality, the Confederate flag is now seen as a supremacist symbol for "whites" and consequently is receiving several bans in many contexts, both entertainment and non, especially after the latest events at the Washington Capitol.
We do not know if other content will be modified or cut, as the GTAs of the early 2000s were quite libertine in terms of themes and, if desired, a lot of things could actually be removed or changed (we hope not). Anyway, Phil Cassidy, from today, will be wearing a nice black t-shirt with a skull, while still creepy.
