Gran Turismo 7: mandatory online connection also for the single player campaign

Gran Turismo 7

Through the PS Blog we discover that the online connection will be mandatory in Gran Turismo 7 also to play the single player campaign. The PlayStation site indicates which PS4 and PS5 game modes require connection: in short, practically all of them.

Specifically, the following Gran Turismo 7 modes require online connection:

Single player campaign Livery Editor, or the mode for creating the liveries of Scapes cars, or the photographic mode that supports HDR and allows you to choose 43 countries and 2,500 different places to take photos GT Café, or the mode where specific car collections will be collected and which will allow you to complete GT Auto missions, or the car customization system

Gran Turismo 7 As mentioned, Gran Turismo 7 would seem to require online connection for all modes, even single player ones like campaign and photo mode. We are sure that many players will not appreciate this, especially those who normally need to leave the console offline.

For all the details on the contents of the various modes, you can refer to our dedicated news. If you want to (re) see the first gameplay trailer at PlayStation Showcase, you can find it here.

We remind you that Gran Turismo 7 will arrive on PS4 and PS5 on March 4, 2022.

Gran Turismo 7 resurfaced during Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021 with a new trailer. Sony’s head of PS Studios Hermen Hulst shared that it’s coming March 4th, 2022, and the trailer shows off more cars that you’ll likely never be able to afford, and lots of them. Inside of the cars, outside of them, and the gorgeous, presumably ray-traced vistas that you’ll be zipping around in.

The first trailer that debuted in June 2020 showed us as much, but this new one shows, well, even more of that, plus a more in-depth glimpse of the deep customization that Gran Tursimo sims are known to offer. It also shows off some online gameplay, as well a look at the game’s deep photo mode. Hulst shared in a post-event chat that the game will take advantage of the DualSense’s rumble features and adaptive triggers.

Positioned next to the free-roaming action in Forza Horizon 5 on the Xbox Series X/S consoles and PC, Gran Turismo 7’s driving should deliver a more subdued, but nevertheless exciting gameplay.
