PS5 Restock Update for GameStop, Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Costco and More
Although you are still unable to get a PS5 from any major U.S. outlet, a handful of merchants will soon be due for their next restocks. Meanwhile, you can technically get second-hand units from a few resellers, as long as you are willing to pay grossly inflated costs.
Below is a breakdown of the latest PS5 restock information.
GameStop PS5 RestockGameStop was selling PS5 units Tuesday, with a choice of three different bundles.
Ranging in cost from $604.97 to $769.95, there were multiple options to choose from here. You could order the console with physical copies of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, or with an extra controller and relevant subscription memberships thrown in. Not only that, but you actually had a choice between the disc and digital edition of the hardware this time.
Yet there was a catch with Tuesday's restock, as GameStop was only allowing its 'PowerUp Rewards Pro' customers to place orders.
This same restriction has applied to the last few drops and severely limits who is eligible to make a purchase. If you are already a member, then it obviously eliminates some of your competition in getting a PS5, but you do have to pay $14.99 a year for that privilege.
Even if you are a PowerUp member, you can no longer buy a PlayStation 5 from GameStop, as Tuesday's restock sold out within 30 minutes.
Check PS5 restock at GameStop.Target PS5 RestockTarget replenished its supplies last Friday, when it was offering the PS5 for its recommended price of $499.99.
Given the recency of this, it is unlikely that there will be another restock this week. In fact, the general rule of thumb is that these drops occur on a two-week basis, meaning that the next one will probably be sometime around Friday, August 13.
As such, we would recommend that you keep an eye on Target's social media presence closer to that date. Otherwise, you can follow dedicated console trackers like @Wario64 and @GYXdeals on Twitter for more timely updates.
Check PS5 restock at Target.Walmart PS5 RestockThe last PS5 restock at Walmart was almost two weeks ago now, meaning that the next one could be just on the horizon.
The outlet's restocks have invariably landed on Thursdays at 3 p.m. ET, so it could potentially happen Thursday.
In the meantime, you might be able to find a couple of PS5 units on the website, but these are all being sold by independent scalpers for extortionate prices. For instance, there is one currently listed there for $893.79.
Check PS5 restock at Walmart.Newegg PS5 RestockA Newegg shuffle was running last Friday which contained the PlayStation 5.
For context, this means that the item was included in what is basically a lottery draw. By entering a Newegg shuffle, you are not necessarily guaranteed the opportunity to purchase its contents, but there is a chance that your name will be selected at random.
This system is generally considered to be fairer than a standard virtual line, as it does not rely on you needing the fastest internet connection or on you being free at the exact moment that supplies go up. What's more, it is a lot harder for third-party scalpers to exploit a randomized lottery draw.
To be alerted the next time a PS5 Newegg shuffle opens, follow the likes of @Wario64 and @GYXdeals.
Check PS5 restock at Newegg.PS Direct PS5 RestockThe last time that you could order a PS5 directly from Sony itself was Tuesday, July 20. In that particular instance, the console was available to all prospective customers, rather than just those who had received exclusive invitations to join the virtual line.
There is currently no indication of when the next PS Direct restock will be taking place, but we usually find out ahead of time. This is because the merchant often sends out notification emails to random PlayStation users, letting them know that the virtual line is about to open.
There have been no reports of people receiving these invitations lately, which presumably means that the next restock is still a way off.
Check PS restock at PS Direct.Amazon PS5 RestockAmazon has not coordinated an official PS5 restock since its Prime Day flash sale in June.
Occasionally, you might come across second-hand units on the website that are being traded by third-party resellers but, like at Walmart, these will always be incredibly overpriced.
Check PS5 restock at Amazon.Best Buy PS5 RestockWith its ever-fluctuating restock patterns, Best Buy has been one of the more prolific vendors of next-gen consoles lately.
This Friday will mark two weeks since its last PS5 restock, so (as per the usual two-week rule) it is due for another one soon.
Check PS5 restock at Best Buy.Antonline PS5 RestockYou cannot get a PS5 from Antonline at the time of writing, but there is an option for getting the Xbox Series S if you are willing to settle for Microsoft's less powerful console.
Check PS5 restock at Antonline.Costco PS5 RestockCostco has not had the PS5 in stock for quite some time. Whenever this situation finally improves, @Wario64 and @GYXdeals will be the first to let you know.
