Nintendo Switch is now almost as successful as the Wii

Nintendo recently released its financial results for the last quarter. In the period between April and June 2021, however, the company suffered a small setback compared to the previous year. According to the data, the sales of the Nintendo Switch fell by 21.7% to 4.45 million units. However, it must be mentioned here that Nintendo had an extremely good quarter a year ago due to the consequences of the pandemic. It is therefore not too surprising to see declining numbers.

In total, over 89.04 million units of the Nintendo Switch have now been sold worldwide. This is getting closer and closer to the numbers of the Wii. Around 101.63 million copies have been sold here since 2006. In the software area there was also a loss of 10.2% compared to the previous year. Over 45.29 million games were sold in the three months of the quarter. The front runner among the Switch titles remains Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 37.08 million units. It is followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons (33.89 million) and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with 24.77 million games sold.

Mario Golf: Super Rush - one of the new releases of the quarter - went down 1.26 million Times over the counter. New Pokémon Snap made 2.07 million units outside of Japan. In Japan, the Pokémon Company is responsible for the title as the publisher. Nintendo's sales have fallen to $ 2.94 billion - a decrease of around 9.9% compared to the previous year. The profit falls by 17.3% to now 1.09 billion US dollars.
