Xbox Game Pass: GTA 5 among the games that will leave the catalog in the coming days

Xbox Game Pass

The official Xbox Game Pass app has revealed which games will leave the catalog available to subscribers in the coming days and among them is GTA 5, although the Rockstar Games title has only recently been included (for the second time).

It seems now clear that Rockstar Games titles have some particular agreement with Microsoft that they are destined to remain in the Xbox Game Pass catalog only for rather limited amounts of time, compared to the standard: even Red Dead Redemption 2 was removed from the catalog of the service after 4 months, as well as GTA 5 in its first stay and evidently also in its second, since it was only included last April and already appears among the upcoming games.

Considering As games remain in the Xbox Game Pass catalog a year or more on average, at least in most cases, it is clear that Rockstar Games titles are exceptions, probably due to the large sales that continue to register on the market.

GTA 5 has therefore appeared in the list of games "soon no longer available" according to the Xbox Game Pass app, along with other titles. Although there is not, as usual, a precise indication as to when these will be removed, it is likely that the elimination will take place at the end of July 2021, so if you are interested in some of these the advice is to focus on these games in these days, or proceed with the purchase using the discount reserved for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Here are the titles coming out of the Xbox Game Pass catalog in the next few days:

It Lurks Below The Touryst Undermine Grand Theft Auto V

In the face of these releases, we remember the games coming in this last part of July, which include The Ascent, Flight Simulator and many others.

GTA 5 leaving Xbox Game Pass soon

Grand Theft Auto V is, once again, leaving Xbox Game Pass after a brief three-month stint in the service. The game has appeared in the leaving soon section of the Game Pass mobile app without a date.

Description: When a young street hustler, a retired bank robber and a terrifying psychopath find themselves entangled with some of the most frightening and deranged elements of the criminal underworld, the U.S. government and the entertainment industry, they must pull off a series of dangerous heists to survive in a ruthless city in which they can trust nobody, least of all each other.Size: 70GB

It seems that Rockstar only likes to include its titles in Xbox Game Pass for a period of around three months. Grand Theft Auto V only re-joined Xbox Game Pass library back in April after a previous period in the service that lasted for the same amount of time. We've also seen the same happen with Red Dead Redemption 2, which was also only included in Xbox Game Pass for three months.

While GTA 5 has featured twice in Xbox Game Pass, Red Redemption 2 has only been included once. It's possible that Rockstar could be rotating these games in and out of the service, so we might see RDR2 return to Game Pass once more.

Unfortunately, the Xbox Game Pass mobile app doesn't (currently) give us a date for when GTA 5 will leave the service. While games generally stick around for two weeks after they've been announced as leaving Game Pass, it's possible GTA 5 could drop out of the service on August 1st along with The Touryst, Undermine, and It Lurks Below. We will update you as soon as we have a firm date from Microsoft.
