Will PUBG become free-to-play? It will soon be playable for free on PC

PUBG is about to become free-to-play, with a rather well-known insider in the field seems convinced that soon the famous battle royale will become playable for free by all on PC through a substantial change of its organization.

As seen below, PlayerIGN, which is considered a reliable source for datamining and information on PUBG in general, claims that PUBG "wants to go free-to-play", at least as far as the PC version is concerned, following what appears to be be player feedback.

PUBG Corp. had reportedly already positively assessed the move to the free-to-play regime in 2019, but then decided to keep the current standard organization up to now, however the idea of a switch to distribution on a free basis would have always remained active at the company.

According to the alleged insider, the announcement of the change could take place as early as August, or in any case in the next few weeks information on this should emerge, based on collecting feedback on the subject from the community of players.

The weird thing is that a free-to-play version of PUBG actually existed with PUBG Lite, but was shut down by PUBG Corp just a few months ago. The issue made us think of a failure of the free-to-play project, but it is possible that it has to do above all with the heel that the team wants to avoid carrying out different versions of the same game.

In meanwhile we are waiting for information on the new PUBG New State, the mobile sequel to the battle royale.
