The new Assassin's Creed Infinity
Ubisoft wants to convert Assassin's Creed into a live service title that offers many different settings and binds players to the new platform with regular updates. Assassin's Creed Infinity is the current project name for the game, which is under development at Ubisoft Montreal and Quebec. The creators get their inspiration from games like Fortnite or Apex Legends, which keep adding new features with the growing game worlds. In the case of Assassin's Creed Infinity, the aim is to bring the player to different historical locations in different eras. The individual titles of the live service platform are connected to one another, but should be playfully different from one another. Ubisoft also wants to provide variation visually. Shortly after Bloomberg was released, Ubisoft also officially commented on the future of Assassin's Creed and the new Infinity project. However, details of the content of the plans are not mentioned here. Production will be headed by Marc-Alexis Côté, who will also act as executive producer.
In the past, the studios in Montreal and Quebec have alternated with the offshoots of Assassin's Creed. The teams are now working together on the ambitious Infinity for the first time. According to the report, the platform is not expected before 2024. In addition to the big games from Assassin's Creed, there will also be a few small titles on Infinity.
Since the two main studios are now busy with the project, it is currently unclear whether there will be another offshoot of the series between Valhalla and Infinity or whether Ubisoft will now take a little assassin break. In addition, Ubisoft Montreal currently seems to have a problem with quitting employees. Many employees are tired from the big productions - but the restructuring and allegations against some Ubisoft managers have also caused the exit. Many have moved to competing studios in Montreal.
