The incubator is called IGI and is sponsored by various companies in the world of video games. The creator is Marvelous, who in collaboration with Ludimus, Head-High and Game BCN will facilitate the work of independent developers. Consequently, within the Collaborators section (probably in charge of providing technologies and support) we find different realities, which are not just about PlayStation. In fact, the list includes Steam, Criware, Unity, Epic Games, Nvidia and even Microsoft, with its ID @ Xbox.
If Yoshida has expressed himself in favor of this partnership, the same can also be said for the house of Redmond. "Microsoft is happy to support IGI, Indie Game Incubator and to work with Japanese independent developers", the words of Chris Charla, which clearly echo the strategy that will be followed by Xbox over the next few years. Strategy, therefore, which apparently is also shared by PlayStation.
IGI is an incubator also managed by some companies that work directly in the engineering field of personal computers and video games. Just think, for example, of Intel. The absence of AMD is obviously quite strange, considering that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S (as well as Xbox Series X) move thanks to hardware developed by the company that responds to Lisa Su. However, it is not excluded that in the near future more companies in the tech world will push towards these realities, given the ever and growing applications of technologies once distant from this fantastic reality.
Xbox Series S is available on Amazon with a small discount: you can find it at this address.
