Assassin's Creed Infinity will still be single player and narrative
After uncovering the case of Pandora, Jason Schreier returns to talk about Assassin's Creed Infinity, the live service evolution of the famous Ubisoft series. Bloomberg's colleague not only confirmed that the game is many years away, but he wanted to point out that the definition "live service" doesn't mean that the game will be like Destiny or Anthem. Indeed, it will maintain the strong narrative single player structure of its predecessors, only that it will bea> part of a larger universe. In the past few hours, the American journalist had unveiled this evolution for the Assassin's Creed series, an evolution that it also called for a rethinking and reorganization of the Montrel and Quebec studios.
The change, however, will be less profound than many may fear. In fact, the game formula will remain practically unchanged and that "live service" linked to the project does not mean that the game will turn into a sort of Destiny. Only that the series will become part of a less static universe organized in sealed and constantly evolving compartments.
"Since many have misunderstood, I want to insist: Assassin's Creed Infinity as a live service platform does not mean that it will be either Destiny or Anthem. There will likely be narrative content to play alone in Assassin's Creed style, but it will all be part of Infinity, "wrote Schreier on Twitter.
" Indeed, if everything were to okay (again, we're years away from release) could experiment with small Assassin's Creed content without having to create games of 500 hours each, since these small parts will be incorporated into a constantly evolving platform, and they don't have to necessarily be suitable for an annual release. "
This is an ambitious goal, which in any case may change, evolve or expand over the years. Assassin's Creed Infinity not released before 2024, according to Jason Schreier
