Indie horror classic The Blair Witch Project (which you can also see the film in Blu-Ray version) will become a new Escape Room-style attraction in Las Vegas at the end of July 2021. Jason Egan, who has already designed the Lionsgate's Saw Escape attraction in Las Vegas, will be responsible for the Blair Witch version. According to TheWrap, Escape Blair Witch will be set within a faithful creation of a dilapidated century-old house set within a creepy forest. Being, in fact, an entire house, the attraction will have 10 rooms from which you will have to escape and visitors should take about an hour to unlock all the puzzles.
More than an Escape Room, therefore, it will be a sort of obstacle course very similar to other attractions regarding, for example, The Walking Dead or the PetCo Stadium in San Diego. Among the future projects, in addition to the current The Blair Witch Project, it seems there may also be American Psycho. Egan, however, wanted to emphasize that regardless of whether the participants manage to escape or not, each of them can still know the ending of the story.
Jenefer Brown, Lionsgate EVP and executive of Global Live, Interactive & Location Based Entertainment, added:
“We really think our ideas are not only of interest in Las Vegas, as there is a huge demand for horror all over the world. If you look at the box office, horror movies were gaining market share in the years leading up to the pandemic. This means there is a huge fanbase that has a penchant for horror, and it's not limited to just certain times of the year. "
In this regard, Lionsgate seems to have quite advanced plans to develop video games based on the franchises of The Blair Witch Project and The House. The latter, as well as the aforementioned Saw, also had a very successful live-action film saga so it would already have a fairly large community. If, however, you are in the vicinity of Las Vegas and decide to go to this attraction dedicated to Blair Witch, you should know that the ticket price is around $ 45.
