Horizon Forbidden West
About a year after its first announcement, we were finally able to see a first gameplay of the highly anticipated Horizon Forbidden West. The title has shown itself to be healthy and full of a series of new features that make it fresh and interesting. There are still many questions and issues that need to be clarified, and for this reason a part of the Guerrilla Games team answered some questions in a recent interview uploaded to YouTube.Among the various issues that were touched upon , the Guerrilla guys have lifted the veil on a whole series of details and information on the new exclusive PlayStation 5 that still remained hidden. Among these we talked about the completely revised free climbing system, the support of the PS5 3D audio technology and the innovative DualSense controller, the presence of a series of biomes totally different from each other within the map and many other interesting points of discussion.
But what has certainly aroused a lot of interest is one of the much talked about technical aspects after State of Play dedicated to Horizon Forbidden West. As confirmed by the Guerrilla guys, the game will have the performance mode on PlayStaion 5, which, once selected from the appropriate menu, will allow players to enjoy the fantastic game world of Horizon at 60 frames per second.
Within the video interview there was also space to talk about the release of Horizon Forbidden West. At the end of State of Play we were left with a dry mouth, with Guerrilla reassuring us that we would know more about the game's release very soon. Here, from what emerges from this interview, the release of the game in 2021 is still not 100% sure, even if the team is doing everything to ensure that players can return to impersonate Aloy this year.

Sony clarified the release windows of two of its upcoming biggest games today via an interview with PlayStation Studios head Hermen Hulst. He notes that Horizon: Forbidden West is hoping for a release this holiday, while the next God of War (which is probably subtitled Ragnarok) is coming in 2022.
We got a good look at Horizon: Forbidden West during a State of Play stream last month, but Sony did not reveal a release date — or an even a release window — for the game. Sony is now clarifying that it wants the blockbuster sequel to come out during the later part of the year, but it isn’t fully committing to anything.
“For Horizon, we think we are on track to release this holiday season,” Hulst says in the interview. “But that isn’t quite certain yet, and we’re working as hard as we can to confirm that to you as soon as we can.”
The pandemic has been challenging for developers, so industry watchers are expecting delays. Still, Sony likely wants Forbidden West to be its big holiday release.
God of War, meanwhile, always seemed likely as a 2022 game, even though Sony first pegged it for a 2021 release when it announced the sequel last September.
“And for God of War, the project started a little later [than Horizon: Forbidden West],” notes Hulst. “So we’ve made the decision to push that game out to next year, to ensure that Santa Monica Studio can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play.”
Aside from the imminent Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, these are Sony’s biggest upcoming releases. The PlayStation 5 is off to a strong start, and high-end software will ensure that it continues to see success.
