Guardians of the Galaxy: Apparently game announcement at E3

Guardians of the Galaxy: Apparently game announcement at E3

Guardians of the Galaxy

It seems like we'll have to wait a little longer for a new installment in the Tomb Raider franchise. According to a rumor, the developers are currently working on a game about the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Guardians of the Galaxy instead of Deus Ex

What kind of game this will be is not clear , but industry insider Jason Schreier believes we'll find out more about the title at E3. A game in the style of the last Tomb Raider titles, but set in the universe of Guardians of the Galaxy (buy now 11.49 €), could be quite interesting. We're supposed to find out more during the Square Enix E3 show. In addition, there is probably information about Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther - War for Wakanda, Life is Strange: True Colors and a first look at Life is Strange: Remastered Collection.

Guardians of the Galaxy is said to have emerged from a failed Deus-Ex project at Eidos Montreal. A new part of the action series was in the works until 2017, according to Jason Schreier. The disappointing sales of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided meant that the project was discontinued and Eidos Montreal took care of the alleged Guardians of the Galaxy game.

So Square Enix's E3 show should be pretty interesting. However, according to Jason Schreier, it is unclear whether we will also get to see something for Final Fantasy 16. So it remains exciting and maybe we'll see one or two surprises. A Guardians of the Galaxy, for example, would definitely be something that fans should celebrate - even if some might remain skeptical because of the disappointing Marvel's Avengers.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Game Could Be Square Enix’s Big Showcase At E3 2021

Today, Square Enix made an announcement regarding its appearance at E3 2021 on June 13. Among other things, it mentioned a world premiere from Eidos Montreal.

You must be wondering how that’s relevant.

Well, it all goes back to 2017 when it was reported that Eidos Montreal cancelled a planned sequel to Deus Ex game. Since Square Enix had made a new partnership with Marvel, it was rumored that Eidos Montreal is working on a game based on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Since then, we didn’t hear anything about the game until earlier this month. We got another scoop from the well-known industry insider and journalist, Jeff Grubb who said that the project was still in development. In one of his YouTube videos, Grubb mentioned that Guardians of the Galaxy could be present at E3 2021.

Now, we understand that much of it just hearsay and speculation, but clubbing all the hints above with the latest announcement, it seems like the Guardians of the Galaxy game might be revealed during E3 2021.

But just like any other leak or rumor, you should take this information with a pinch of salt.
