The second generation of Tesla Roadster is now expected on the market for more than 4 years, after the first official presentation took place in 2017; for the moment, one of the few existing examples is on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, between May 19 and June 2, 2021.
In the past, the Petersen museum had already exhibited several Tesla models and other cars interesting electric: in the halls of the museum it was possible to admire the Tesla Cybertruck, the first generation of Tesla Roadster, the prototype of the Tesla Model S, the GM EV1, the concept of Volkswagen ID.3 and ID.BUZZ, and the prototype of the Bollinger B1.
The design of the second generation Tesla Roadster has remained practically unchanged in recent years, as has the technical configuration already revealed for some time: the car will be equipped with 3 engines, 2 on the rear axle and one on the front axle, and will be able to sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2 seconds. But that's not all, because the car is equipped with a system of thrusters that come directly from SpaceX and which, thanks to the use of compressed air, can push the car from 0 to 100 km / h in just 1.1 seconds, almost half the time - already crazy in itself - that you get using electric motors. The system, as confirmed by Elon Musk himself on Twitter, will be hidden behind the license plate of the car, as if it were a gadget from a James Bond car.
In any case this launch system at crazy speed it can be used only once, and then it will be necessary to recharge the dedicated tanks with compressed air. We would also have to ask ourselves whether a normal motorist, and his possible passengers, would really be able to handle such violent and sudden acceleration.
To date we do not have an official date for the release of the Tesla Roadster, the latest information indicates 2022 as the good year: the price is about $ 200,000 with a $ 50,000 deposit to be paid to book auto.
