PS5
It hasn't been long since we told you about a possible PlayStation 5 overhaul. To give even more support to what for the moment we can only define as rumors comes yet another report. This time the question goes slightly deeper, citing the arrival of a possible new PS5 model well sooner than fans would have thought, and hoped for.The news was beaten in a recent report published on Digitimes editorial pages. The news is quickly making its way around the web, with many users sharing it a lot on Twitter. From what emerges, it would appear that Sony is already producing a new model of PS5, with the Japanese company intending to market this revised version as early as next year.
What will change in this hypothetical new version of PS5 will be internal components. According to the report, this revision would mount an AMD 6 nanometer Semi Custom CPU, instead of a 5 nanometer, which is considered by the Japanese company to be excessively expensive. Finally, it is not specified whether this change will also bring about differences in terms of console design.
Taiwanese news outlet with spotty track record Digitimes: Sony aims for a PS5 redesign for 2Q or 3Q 2022: https: / /t.co/ASb1oWa3gM (paywall: and yes, I am subscribed)
It says the next PS5 will come with a "new semi-customized" 6nm CPU from AMD.
5nm is said to be too costly.

As is often the case with this kind of report, we can't say for sure if this new PS5 model is something Sony is really thinking about or if it's just one of the many rumors that are going to die soon. In the meantime, however, the stocks of the new generation Sony console continue to run low and consequently there are still few gamers who have managed to get their hands on a brand new PlayStation 5. May a change of internal components solve the scarcity of stocks?
