Mass Effect: Legendary Edition has been available since yesterday. For the few inattentive of you who have been far from the gaming news, this is a collection with the games of the famous BioWare saga completely remastered. The package obviously includes the whole trilogy, from the first historical chapter to the third, excluding (for obvious "personal" reasons) the last iteration of the franchise, that is Andromeda.Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC but it is on the latter platform that BioWare has worked to make the original saves compatible. As we all know, in fact, the first three chapters of the game originally debuted on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and the console architecture does not allow the transfer of saves between platforms. On the other hand, a different speech with regard to the PC, which also thanks to cloud systems integrated in the various clients always allows the recovery of file saves, even after years or radical changes of hardware specifications.
There is, however, a small, insurmountable obstacle. While it is true that Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is compatible with old saves, it is not for all chapters. As reported online, in fact, the save files that can be imported are those of the second and third chapter. The first was not excluded by choice but by technical necessity: there have been too many changes that involved Shepard's original adventure, thus making the old rescues incompatible. If you still have the files available, just overwrite them (or better, copy and paste them) in the new folder.
