The special Lego Star Wars set dedicated to R2-D2

(Photo: Lego) A new Lego set from the Star Wars range stands out on the horizon to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the foundation of Lucasfilm. The protagonist is one of the most loved and popular characters of the series, that is the nice little robot R2-D2, also called C1-P8 in Italian. There are 2314 pieces to assemble a collector's item full of details to be discovered.

On December 10, half a century ago, thanks to the efforts of George Lucas, what has become one of the film production companies was born in San Francisco most famous and iconic in history. To pay homage to the important anniversary, Lego has prepared a very special set of bricks, inside and out.

(Photo: Lego) The Lego Star Wars R2-D2 set is indeed a kind of small bundle because beyond the 31cm tall version (20cm wide and 15cm deep) also includes a nice droid minifigure along with an exclusive 50th anniversary Lego Lucasfilm brick / plate. Distinguished by the number 75308, this set represents R2-D2 in every detail, from the single retractable leg to the rotating head, up to the periscope. There are also some hidden elements that as in the case of the hilt of the lightsaber hidden inside a secret compartment in the head.

The choice of R2-D2 is not accidental because the droid appears in all three the triologies of the saga and plays a fundamental role in delicate moments such as in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope when he helps Luke Skywalker find Obi-Wan Kenobi, conveying the message of Princess Leia in difficulty.

The Lego Star Wars R2-D2 set will be available on the official Lego website and at Lego Stores all over the world from next 1st May 2021 and from July also in the best toy stores at the selling price of 199 , 99 euros.
