The Last of Us
The production of The Last of Us TV series for HBO is currently in full swing. In addition to some details about the basic story, the first actors for the most important roles are already known. But is it actually with the scripts and the fidelity of the series in general? How close will the episodes be to the game template? The game director Neil Druckmann, who is also the producer of the series, responded to this - and much more - in an interview with IGN.In it, Druckmann first stated that the HBO series was basically an adaptation of the first Game by The Last of Us (buy now € 20.00) and the fans would find a corresponding number of familiar elements. However, there are sometimes serious differences, mainly due to the different media formats.
"Things are sometimes closely related. It's funny to see my dialogues from the games in the HBO scripts. And sometimes they differ a lot for a better effect, since we're dealing with a different medium here. For example: There is a lot of action in the game because the player has to learn certain mechanics more spectacle than a TV show. Because there you don't have to teach people how to use a cannon. It's something that is completely different. HBO was great at taking us away from the hardcore action and focus To put more emphasis on the drama of the characters. Some of my favorite episodes so far are very different from the story, and I can't wait for people to see them. "
When exactly that will be is still not known. HBO has not yet announced a specific start date for the TV series from The Last of Us. However, we do not assume that you will see the first episode before the year 2022.

The Last Of Us HBO Series Follows The First Game And Will Have Episodes That Deviate Greatly From What We Have Played
Speaking to IGN, Neil Druckmann said at SXSW 2021 that The Last of Us HBO series, which he is helping develop, will follow the events of the first game, but deviate from it in a number of places.
Starting off, Druckmann confirmed that Season 1 will be the first game, with the “philosophical underpinnings of the story” being the most important thing they had to get right. But, smaller things like “is this character wearing the same clothes as they are in the game”, aren’t as important to Druckmann and Craig Mazin.
New details were light, but Druckmann did say that viewers who played the games will recognise some dialogue in the show, but that large parts of episodes will differ greatly. Elaborating on this Druckmann said:
“For example, in the game, there’s so much action you have to have to train the player about mechanics. You have to have more violence and more spectacle to some degree than you would need on a TV show because you don’t need to train people on how to use a gun. So that’s something that’s been really different, and HBO’s been great in pushing us to move away from hardcore action and focus more on the drama of the character. Some of my favorite episodes so far have deviated greatly from the story, and I can’t wait for people to see them.”
Finally, Neil added that he has seen the first prosthetic for a Clicker and that “it’s awesome. It’s so rad to see this thing come to physical life”.
All the pieces are in place for this show to begin filming in the future with Pedro Pascal confirmed to play Joel and Bella Ramsey set to star as Ellie.
