During the Dragon Ball Battle Hour eSport event there was also space for the expected and rumored announcement of the new Dragon Ball Z Kakarot DLC. Bandai Namco did not disappoint expectations by unveiling Trunks: The Warrior of Hope, a new narrative arc focused on Trunks from the future.

We already talked about a DLC focused on the beloved purple-haired character in May of last year year, when the dataminers found the first clues about it. The presentation trailer leaves no doubt about the themes of the new story, since it opens with the death of Goku caused by the heart virus and continues with the devastating attack operated by cyborgs C-17 and C-18, against which the defenders of the Earth could not do anything. The first to fall was Piccolo, followed by Vegeta, Yamcha, Tien and Krilin. The story of the DLC begins 13 years after these events: the trailer of the announcement, which you can view at the opening of the news, closes by showing Trunks and Gohan from the future, the only survivors of the attack. In the alternate reality imagined by the authors of Dragon Ball Z it was Gohan who trained Vegeta's son, who then returned to the past thanks to a time machine built by Bulma.

To experience one of the most loved narrative arcs of fans in Dragon Ball Z Kakarot will have to wait a few months: the release of the DLC Trunks: The Warrior of Hope is in fact scheduled in the first part of the summer on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The new story arc will complete the Season Pass, which in recent months has already made available the episodes A New Power Awakens 1 & 2. Before then, on March 9 to be exact, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot will receive a free update which will expand the Dragon Ball Card Warriors card set.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot downloadable content “Trunks: The Warrior of Hope” will launch in the early summer, publisher Bandai Namco and developer CyberConnect2 announced.

“Trunks: The Warrior of Hope” is a new story arc and is included in the Season Pass alongside the previously released two “A New Power Awakens” episodes. Here is the premise:

Goku has died. He had stool tall against the deadliest of foes, but the mighty warrior was no match for the virus in his heart. Though those close to Goku were overcome with sadness, they continued to lead peaceful lives for some time.

However, half a year later, two monstrosities appeared on an island to the south. Earth’s defenders met them head-on, but they stood no chance. Piccolo was the first to fall, then Vegeta, Yamcha, Tien, and Krillin all lost their lives.

The two androids plunged the world into a state of constant fear and chaos… It is here, 13 years later, that our story begins. A story about a world without Goku…

Additionally, Bandai Namco will release a free update for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on March 9 that adds a second blast of cards to the “Dragon Ball: Card Warriors” mini-game.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
