Crash Bandicoot 4 on PC requires a persistent internet connection

With a couple of weeks behind the PS5, Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch editions, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has finally made its debut on PC as well. However, the first enthusiastic purchasers of the game soon made a discovery they never expected: the game requires a persistent internet connection.

The title, available only on Blizzard Battle.net, requires a connection perennial to the network despite offering a substantially single-player experience, with the only concessions to multiplayer in two local modes - Battle Bandicoot and Pass N. Play. This is a measure implemented almost certainly for protective purposes (it is certainly not the first online DRM we are dealing with), but which has left many players equally banned. The other Activision games on Battle.net also require the always online, but in those cases they are products voted largely to the competitive multiplayer sphere, such as Call of Duty.

On PC, remember, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time can go up to 4K resolution with an unlimited framerate (see minimum and recommended system requirements). The game is also available on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch. If you want to know more, you can read our Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time for PS5 review.
