Assassin's Creed, McDevitt goes away

Yesterday came news that many fans of the Assassin's Creed saga would never have wanted to learn: writer Darby McDevitt has left Ubisoft Montreal.

McDevitt contributed a large portion of the assassin saga lore. , having first put his hand on spin-offs like Bloodlines and Discovery, and then on the short film Assassin's Creed Embers and on the video games Assassin's Creed: Revelations, Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag, Assassin's Creed Origins and the recent Assassin's Creed Valhalla. As a consultant and editor he also participated in the writing of the two volumes of the Encyclopedia of the saga, and of the novels Forsaken, Revelations and The Secret Crusade.

After more than ten years spent in Ubisoft Montreal, the writer has decided to "leave for a new adventure". Despite the obvious sadness, the community greeted him with lots of messages of affection, also propitiating his new journey with a video-tribute made by Clément (@ white24room), a well-known representative of the Assassin's Creed community.

"Special thanks to @ white24room for this montage. I've been a fan of these tribute videos since Revelations, and receiving a special one dedicated to me is a touching experience," McDevitt wrote on his personal Twitter profile. In the video, which you can see at the bottom of this news, scrolls the images taken from the video games of the saga written by him, from Black Flag to Valhalla. Enjoy!
