The new Microsoft controller launched together with the Xbox Series X / S has a hidden function that is not officially revealed and for which there is no documentation on the net, as revealed by Timo Wolf, Microsoft employee and avid gamer.
In fact each controller can be associated with two different devices and via the synchronization button you can switch from console to PC or mobile in a few moments. This feature (generically referred to as Switch Devices) is mentioned on the product page on the Xbox USA site but is not mentioned in the user manual or on the support pages.
How does it work exactly? In fact it will be enough to hold down the Sync button on the top of the controller until the central button flashes 2/3 times, in this way the joypad will immediately synchronize with the last PC / Mobile device used while pressing the Sync button twice will revert to connect to the last used Xbox console. It is not a revolutionary feature but it is certainly a pleasure to discover its existence.
At the bottom of the news you will find a video that shows the operation of what has been described, but remember that if you use an Xbox Wireless Adapter it will not be possible to put into practice this little trick, a rather handy feature for those who use the same joypad on multiple devices.
