Like a bolt from the blue yesterday evening Sony announced a new State of Play scheduled for this Thursday at 23:00 (Italian time). As it was also logical to think, people began to speculate on possible announcements, the most highly rated of course is God of War 2. As you well know, the sequel to the chapter starring Kratos released in 2018, winner of the Game of the Year, has already been announced through a teaser some time ago and would be out in the course of 2021. Many are not totally convinced that the work can be seen this year due to the COVID 19 pandemic which has inevitably slowed down all the work of the major companies in the sector.
Yesterday, for example, we saw that Gran Turismo 7 has been pushed back to 2022 and it is very plausible that God of War 2 will face the same fate. Jason Schreier is convinced of this and, through a tweet, stated that it will be impossible for him to see the game come out this year (here the official post). Cory Barlog thus answered in an ironic way making users go crazy on the well-known social network, we will leave you his answer at the end of this news.
To date there is no definite news on the release period, nor if it will really come postponed to a later date. However, Barlog has rekindled hopes of seeing him really ready for 2021. It remains absolutely plausible that God of War 2 will be the main protagonist of Thursday's Stat of Play, but we still want to invite you to take this with due pliers. The work is certainly one of the most anticipated, but it must be remembered that Sony has other aces to play, one above all Horizon 2: Forbidden West, which could almost certainly be seen during the event.
