Remedy signs a record year

After celebrating Remedy Entertainment's 25th anniversary, the Finnish development team confirms they are in excellent health, with record financial results.

Looking back at the past 12 months, Control writers and Alan Wake observe what was for them the best year ever, with 41.1 million euros in revenue, marking an increase of as much as 30% compared to the previous year. To make the achieved goal even more remarkable, we find the fact that Remedy has not published any new game during the entire 2020, limiting itself to expanding the experience proposed by Control, proposing the latest expansion and making the appreciated production available on new platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Jesse Faden's supernatural epic has also been revived in its Ultimate Edition.

Presenting the financial results, the CEO of Remedy, Tero Virtala, offered an interesting overview of the activities currently underway in the software house studios. Specifically, it was confirmed that the Control team is "gradually" moving on to take care of a new project, while work continues on the Crossfire X single player campaign. In parallel, the work on the mysterious multiplayer Vanguard proceeds, but is still in the initial stages, so much so that the publication model has not yet been defined. Finally, in collaboration with Epic Game s, Remedy is working on an AAA and on a smaller project, coming to both PC and console. The second is currently in full production, while the first is expected to enter this phase during the spring.
