The demand for the PS5 is huge: Sony has sold every console it has produced since its release in November 2020. As part of a current financial report, the publisher announced that it had sold around 4.5 million PlayStation 5 consoles worldwide up to and including December 31. Sony's CFO Hiroki Totoki is convinced that the strong demand will continue in the upcoming fiscal year (April 2021 to March 2022). Speaking to the financial report, he says that Sony plans to ship 14.8 million consoles next year.
