The 2021 of Stellantis, the new industrial conglomerate born from the merger between the FCA and PSA groups, will be in the name of SUVs. The Italian company is expected to confirm the arrival of three new high-wheeled products for Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Fiat. The Arese brand will see the entry into the range of the now well-known and anticipated Tonale; near Modena in viale Ciro Menotti the price list will be expanded with the arrival of Grecale, built on a Stelvio base.
As for Fiat, the rumors received so far seem to suggest the entry into the 500 X dimension of a convertible version, ready to challenge Volkswagen T-Roc. The news on the 500 X had been confirmed last December by the director of FCA Europe Pietro Gorlier. The segment in which the new model would fit is rather restricted, the main rival would be, as mentioned, the Volkswagen crossover.
Compared to the latter, Fiat's Italian vehicle should keep the pillars, approaching the own style and settings to that of the smaller 500 C. Some changes should involve the styling, with some slight updates to the bodywork. As for the engines, the arrival of a mild hybrid propulsion scheme is expected. 500 X cabrio will be assembled at the Italian factory in Melfi, the same that currently hosts the production of the classic version and of the Jeep Renegade and Compass.
