A few days before the digital release of the Ultimate Edition of Control, Publisher 505 Games and the Remedy team presented the improvements for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S in detail. The consoles of the new generation are given a performance mode that targets 60 FPS at a render resolution of 1440p with 4K output. However, these values only apply to players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
On the Xbox Series S, the resolution of the title is 900p - the output on the screen is limited to 1080p. In addition, owners of the Xbox Series S have to forego Control's graphics mode. Here fans can look forward to ray tracing support, among other things. The render resolution is 1220p - the output on the screen is 4K. Due to the increased requirements, the frame rate is reduced to 30 FPS again and is thus similar to the version released in 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One.
