After the extraordinary success of metroidvania set in a suggestive fantasy universe populated by insects, the long-awaited sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong is in the pipeline.
The new production signed by Team Cherry, which will star Hornet, is long overdue on PC and Nintendo Switch. At the end of 2020, the game is presented in a rich coverage of EDGE on Hollow Knight: Silksong. To celebrate the preview is also the cover of the British magazine, which shows for the occasion artwork created by Ari Gibson, art director at the software house: you can view them thanks to the Tweets you find at the bottom of this news. Unfortunately, the publication of the article was not accompanied by the announcement of a release date, but Team Cherry nevertheless shared many interesting details about the production.
We thus learn that the protagonist will have the possibility of completing the quests for multiple Hollow Knight: Silksong NPCs, with the ability to monitor the progress of the missions on a special bulletin board. The latter, however, will not replace the more elaborate interactions with NPCs that players have experienced in Hollow Knight. Finally, the collectibles are back, with a new type of creature to save: instead of the tender caterpillars of the first chapter, Hornet will have to free some fleas imprisoned in the most remote corners of the game world. The goal of the protagonist, who at the beginning of the adventure will not have many of her powers of hers, will be to reach the top of the Citadel, but the development team has confirmed that the game will include "many other lands".
Overall, Team Cherry is trying to create a title that can be accessible to new players, but without giving up the level of difficulty that characterized the first Hollow Knight. Accompanying travelers in their adventure in the realm of insects will once again be the music of Christopher Larkin, who returns as a composer.
