Sure you've heard of it but probably many of you haven't played Moon Studios' wonderful adventure-platformer yet. Ori and the Will of the Wisps follows in the bright trail of its predecessor, Ori and the Blind Forest, gracefully surpassing it and giving its audience an exciting and very close to perfect experience.
Our Riccardo Cantù told you about it in great detail last March, assigning him a well deserved full 9. Who writes to you today has only recently discovered it thanks to the Game Pass and was able to enjoy it on Xbox Series X with all the necessary improvements.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is a book that tells a fairy tale sparkling and dark, which comes to life under your fingers almost by magic. A perfectly balanced metroidvania set in an open world that seems to come from the imagination of the Grimm brothers, characterized by an "artistic sector that is unrivaled in qualitative terms", as Riccardo himself says.
On the new console of Microsoft the game explodes in all its greatness, filing down the very few imperfections of the One edition, such as the occasional input-lag, and climbing a further (half) step towards perfection. The next-gen update allowed him to reach 4K at 120 FPS, reduce loading times to almost zero and gain a number of additional effects, which can be managed at will in the settings screen. Believe us, even if you have already stripped it, it is worth taking another round to enjoy it in this new guise.
Watch on YouTube. The icing on the cake of an almost flawless production was Microsoft's decision to open its exclusive to other platforms to make this wonder be enjoyed by the widest possible audience. After being included in the luscious Game Pass, Ori and the Will of the Wisps was also released on Nintendo Switch, both in digital and physical format.
If you haven't had the opportunity to play this little gem, now is the time to make up for lost time ... so much in this period of time you will probably have enough.
