After several postponements, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally out. Nonetheless, the title has several technical problems that CD Projekt RED is trying to solve. Currently, patch 1.04 is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 - via backwards compatibility. Xbox One owners, on the other hand, will have to wait a little longer, but surely the patch will not be long in coming even for the old-gen console from Microsoft. This update promises a number of bug fixes and general improvements. Through its official website, CD Projekt RED has shared the list of fixes that patch 1.04 brings to Cyberpunk 2077. Only on PlayStation, its weight is 17,684 GB.
Consulting the 1.04 patch notes, it is clear that from the missions and gameplay side many problems related to some quests and some NPC animations have been solved. In addition, the preview of weapon crafting has been improved, vehicle pop-in has decreased, and switching from third to first person view in a vehicle is now much faster.
Game stability too. it has been improved, avoiding numerous crashes, also intervening on the flash effect with braindance to reduce the risk of epileptic seizures. Also, songs that were previously blocked by the "Disable copyrighted music" option are now available. As for platform-specific enhancements, if PC players select “auto language” they will correctly see the language selection chosen for the Steam client. PS4 owners, on the other hand, will notice an improvement in the quality of reflections, while Xbox owners will fix an issue with “The Wasteland” stuck at 97% after completing all relevant missions in The Badlands.
From what has emerged, however, the experience on PC is much less problematic than the players who are trying the title on consoles. The improvements brought by patch 1.04 are particularly noticeable on PS5, but some issues still remain. For example, frame-rate is still very rough on PS4, and some have said they continue to have constant crashing issues - despite patch notes claiming these glitches have been fixed. While patch 1.04 appears to have improved several aspects of Cyberpunk 2077, there still seems to be a long way to go. We hope CD Projekt Red will continue to improve the experience offered with Cyberpunk 2077.
