Star Wars: Dave Prowse, historical interpreter of Darth Vader, is dead
Dave Prowse, actor and athlete, has died at the age of 85, world famous for playing Darth Vader in the classic Star Wars trilogy.

George Lucas' iconic villain was the product of different talents at work: the voice was in fact of James Earl Jones but the body inside the mythical armor was of Dave Prowse, who as a bodybuilder was able to offer the right imposing size to the famous character.

In addition to being an athlete in the field of body building together with Arnol Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno, Prowse has played several roles as an actor in a career spanning over 50 years, whose most important role is that of Vader, despite Prowse was not visible inside the helmet.

In any case, the contribution given by its imposing size and confident gait contributed to characterize Vader in the way we know well. Among other things, it emerged in the background of his career that he could have chosen between playing Chewbacca or Darth Vader, choosing the latter based on the idea that the great villains are remembered more easily, which is very apt.

"Three months in a gorilla coat? No thanks!" Apparently he said Prowse at the time, when the two roles were proposed to him by George Lucas himself. "The other is called Darth Vader, he is the great villain of the film, see?" Lucas told him showing him the concept art of the film in production. "Don't say anything else George, I'm taking this role. You want to know why? If you think back to the movies you've seen where there are clashes between good and bad, you always remember perfectly the villain!" Prowse said choosing to play Darth Vader. br>
