Respond Software is the new acquisition of FireEye

In the historical period in which platform violations, information leaks and ransomware attacks are now unfortunately on the agenda, the market for security solutions is in turmoil. Yet another testimony comes today with the announcement of FireEye confirming the acquisition of Respond Software, a company specialized in providing services that help customers investigate incidents and, above all, prevent new ones.

Security: FireEye buys Respond Software

The agreement was signed for an investment quantified economically at 186 million dollars. For Respond Software, founded four years ago and still in effect a startup, this is a turning point as CEO Mike Armistead points out on the official blog.

We are proud to announce that after many months of negotiations we are becoming part of the Mandiant Solution portfolio, an internal organization within FireEye.

Mandiant Solution provides advanced tools to security teams to deal with the ever-changing threats in circulation. It already has some important partnerships such as the one with Microsoft.

On the occasion FireEye also announced that it has received a $ 400 million investment from the Blackstone Tactical Opportunities fund and from ClearSky (already in support of Respond ), so as to be able to count on new resources for future business expansion.
