Without a doubt, 2020 was a disastrous year for all of humanity. Unfortunately, this state of general confusion has affected every single environment in a negative way. Even our beloved videogame industry has seen itself a victim of the pandemic situation underway, leading many development houses to suffer considerable damage (especially at an economic level). In fact, the current vintage will be remembered by many as "the year of references" as many works have been slowed down. Among the long list of postponements and "effective stops" is also added the recently announced Monster Hunter Rise which, according to its developers, had to come out earlier than expected.
As you surely know by now the future chapter dedicated to the saga of Monster Hunter is preparing to arrive on Nintendo Switch during the next 26 March 2021. A date certainly more than acceptable given the current world situation. Although the Capcom work has not undergone an official postponement, the various developers have let the public know that the ongoing pandemic has drastically affected the development time of the title. In fact, according to Haruhiro Tsujimoto's words, Monster Hunter Rise was due out before March 2021.
"Due to the current global health situation we have been forced to extend the development time of Monster Hunter Rise. We never officially communicated it but the initial release date of the game was not destined for 2021. We were practically forced to take a month off due to the due pandemic and consequently increase the time necessary due to the development of the game . However we are confident in the success of this future Monster Hunter Rise and we really hope it can follow in the footsteps of Monter Hunter World! "
Tsujimoto's words are certainly more than reasonable as the current world situation is certainly not one of the best. We sincerely hope that the project can go ahead without further hitches. We remind you that Monster Hunter Rise will be released on March 26, 2021 as an exclusive for Nintendo Switch.
